ABOUT THE
DESTINATION
PLAYGROUND

Located within a park adjacent to the museum, the Destination Playground will provide an imaginative and inclusive play experience for our region. Owned and operated by the Grand Forks Park District, destination playground will be a fun, free attraction for our region’s residents and an attractive amenity for tourism in Grand Forks. With the future plans of the park offering other possible signature amenities, such as a year-round community pavilion, outdoor fitness court, sculpture walking trail, and fun winter features,
the park will be a valuable resource for our community.

The destination playground will be built with an all-inclusive design and multi-story, unique playground equipment providing a fun play environment for all ages and abilities, including physical and non-physical disabilities such as sensory disabilities and autism. While still in the conceptual stages, the destination playground will incorporate elements that are unique to the Grand Forks area and North Dakota. It will also
incorporate and support the concepts within the Children's Museum by replicating the color palette of the building features and artwork.
