Destination Park
Nestled in a park adjacent to the Grand Forks Children's Museum, a magical space is taking shape. The Destination Playground, managed by the Grand Forks Park District, promises a world where fun and exploration are free for all, making it a cherished spot for local families and a shining highlight for visitors to Grand Forks. Imagine a space that celebrates the land and sky and features attractions for every season, including a welcoming pavilion, an outdoor fitness court, a meandering sculpture trail, and seasonal delights.
Designed with everyone in mind, the Destination Playground will feature innovative, multi-level play equipment that welcomes dreamers and explorers—near and far—of all ages and abilities. While still in the planning phases, the playground’s design aims to capture the essence of Grand Forks and North Dakota, reflecting the museum's lively hues and creative spirit. The Destination Playground isn't just a place to play—it's a canvas for imagination, a bridge between generations, and a place where the community can gather, grow, and explore for generations to come.

Operations & Sustainability
Although the Center for Exploration capital campaign encompasses both the children’s museum building and the destination playground, the Grand Forks Park District will own and operate Destination Playground. Through the Park District's existing general operating budget, their staff will be responsible for maintaining the park land, the playground structure, and all other amenities within the park.
