If you’ve driven past the future home of the Grand Forks Children’s Museum this week, you may have noticed something new, a backhoe parked onsite and bright orange flags outlining the building footprint. They’re small details, but they signal something big: the very first steps of construction have begun.
Â
These early preparations mark the transition from planning to action. Crews are starting initial site work, mapping utilities, and preparing the ground for next month’s official groundbreaking. For the first time, you can stand on the site and see the shape of what’s coming, where galleries and learning spaces will take form, where families will gather, where children will learn through play.
Â

For everyone who has supported this project with belief, encouragement, donations, and volunteer hours, this moment is a glimpse of the future you helped build. The equipment is here. The perimeter is marked. The Grand Forks Children’s Museum is officially moving from vision to reality.
Â
More updates and more exciting visuals are on the way as we get closer to groundbreaking. Watch for information on the official groundbreaking on May 20.
Â
For now, enjoy this first look at a dream beginning to take shape in the dirt. We root and then we rise.
