There are moments in a community when something small becomes something powerful and when an everyday ritual turns into a gesture of hope. That’s exactly what’s happening this April as the Grand Forks Children’s Museum partners with The Ember Coffee House through their monthly Giveback program. It’s not just about coffee. It’s about what happens when people choose to invest in a future they believe in.
Coffee is one of those rare things that crosses generations, routines, and lifestyles. It’s the quiet companion to early‑morning commutes, the spark behind big ideas, the comfort in a busy day. Now and throughout the month of April, your cup of coffee becomes a simple, meaningful way to help bring a long‑awaited children’s museum to life in our region.

What makes this partnership meaningful is the shared spirit behind it. The Ember Coffee House is built on values that mirror our own: curiosity, craftsmanship, community, and care. They believe in doing things with intention, creating a welcoming, accessible gathering space and using their resources to lift up organizations that strengthen the community. That’s the same spirit driving the Grand Forks Children’s Museum: a belief that children deserve spaces that ignite imagination, celebrate learning, foster family connections, and strengthen the fabric of our region.
Throughout April, all cash and credit card tips at The Ember Coffee House will be donated to the Grand Forks Children’s Museum. The Ember is also providing free use of their event venue, promotional support across social and print media, and a special drink feature that highlights the museum all month long.
On April 12 from 10:00–2:00, families are invited to stop by The Ember for hands‑on activities from the Grand Forks Children’s Museum’s Full STEAM Ahead program. Children can explore and create, and adults can learn more about the vision for the future Grand Forks Children’s Museum. Individuals who simply want to stop in, sip a drink, and learn about the project are warmly welcomed.
Perhaps most importantly, this partnership invites the community to be part of something bigger, a groundswell of neighbors, parents, educators, donors, and businesses who believe Grand Forks is ready for a space that celebrates childhood in all its wonder.
This Giveback is simple by design. No door‑to‑door sales. No complicated logistics. No QR codes to scan. Just a chance to support the museum through something people already love. A cup of coffee becomes a vote of confidence. A morning ritual becomes a building block for the future.

Every tip dropped into the jar brings us one step closer to opening our doors…one step closer to hands‑on exhibits, joyful noise, and the kind of learning that only happens when children are given room to explore... one step closer to a place that will belong to all of us.
So brew boldly. Sip with purpose and know that with every cup, you’re helping create something extraordinary for the children and families of Grand Forks.
Thank you, Ember Coffee House, for showing how something as simple as a cup of coffee can help build something extraordinary.
